Thomas completed his preparatory education at Beloit College, where he majored in English and math. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake University in 1971, where he graduated with honors.

After graduating law school, Thomas began practicing law primarily in the area of personal injury as an associate in an established law firm in Des Moines. In 1973, Thomas founded the Thomas J. Reilly Law Firm P.C. Over the past forty years, his law practice has continued to be focused on representing injured individuals. He practices primarily with injured workers, social security disability applicants, persons injured as a result of medical malpractice, persons injured at home or by the accident of another, and persons injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Kyle T. Reilly

Attorney

Kyle was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and is a graduate of Roosevelt H.S. Kyle attended Marquette University from 1997-2000 and attended and graduated the University of Iowa with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake University in 2004.

Kyle officially joined the Thomas J. Reilly Law Firm P.C. in 2002 as a student law clerk and came on board with the firm full time upon admission to the Iowa Bar. He has a general practice including but not limited to workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, products liability law, family law, employment law, administrative law, appellate practice, and trial law.

Joseph S. Powell

Joe completed his preparatory education at the University of Iowa, where he majored in English and minored in sociology and psychology. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake University in 2009, where he graduated with high honors and was selected for membership to the Order of the Coif.

During law school, Joe served as both a junior and senior staff member of the Drake Law Review, and had his student article chosen for publication. He was also a student attorney in the civil division of the Drake Legal Clinic and earned the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Certificate.

Joe joined the Thomas J. Reilly Law Firm P.C. in 2009 after spending two years at the firm as a student law clerk. He has a general practice including but not limited to workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, products liability law, employment law, administrative law, appellate practice, and trial law.

Charles R. Turner

Attorney

Charles was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Charles graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 2013. Upon graduating High School, his interest in the law began. To further explore his interest, Charles began clerking at the Law of Office of Roger P. Owens during the summer of 2013. He described this opportunity as “incredibly rewarding,” where he then decided he wanted to obtain a law license to pursue a lifelong career making a difference in the lives of others.

Charles received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Drake University in 2018. He chose a B.A. in psychology to help build a foundation to better assist him in understanding human behavior as it relates to the law, interacting with clients and judges, understanding the thought process of jurors, and ultimately use his education to get justice for future clients.

During his law school career, Charles was a member of the Drake Criminal Defense Clinic and Advanced Drake Criminal Defense Clinic, where he was granted a temporary license to practice law by the Iowa Supreme Court. Charles was given the opportunity to represent many indigent clients on a pro bono basis. Charles received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake University in 2021.

Charles joined the Thomas J. Reilly Law Firm P.C. in August 2021. He has a general practice including, but not limited to personal injury law, premise liability, workers’ compensation law, criminal defense, and family law.

Jon S Geyer

Paralegal

After graduating high school in 1975 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Jon served in the US Navy for five years as a radar operator aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk. He was honorably discharged in 1981 with the rank of E-5.

From 1981-1985, Jon attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where he earned a bachelor’s degree majoring in political science with a minor in Spanish and history. Jon came to Des Moines in 1986 and attended one semester at Drake University Law School. Jon then worked as maintenance mechanic for the US Postal Service in Des Moines from 1986-1990. In 1989 Jon attended one semester at the University of South Dakota School of Law. In 1991 while studying to obtain a paralegal certificate from the Des Moines Area Community College Jon began his employment with the Thomas J. Reilly Law Firm P.C.

After beginning his employment with the the Thomas J. Reilly Law Firm P.C., Jon worked exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation and social security disability. In 1993 EMC Insurance Company hired Jon to work as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster. In 1994 Jon completed his initial “Associate in Claim’s” classwork from Drake University. In 1995 Jon began work as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster for Crawford and Company in West Des Moines. In 1997 Jon returned to work for the Thomas J. Reilly Law Firm P.C. where he resumed his previous capacity in assisting injured workers and social security disability applicants in obtaining their entitlement to disability benefits.
